Caroline > Landsort, Sweden

The loveliest I know is taking the ferry to Landsort in the outer archipelago of Stockholm. From there you can see nothing but sea sea sea; laughingly you skip and jump across the rocks until you're so hot you must throw yourself in the water only to get back up, lie in the sun and drink chilled wine and the world is just quie

Michelle > Cuicocha & Berlin

Cuicocha, Ecuador
Everytime I visit we stop by Cuicocha, which is a lake inside a crater. It's hidden away and unless you have a tour guide or book, you wouldn't know it's there. The only thing that's there is a great restaurant on the lake, which has an amazing view in the middle of everything. Nearby peeking above the hill you can see snow-capped mountains. You don't feel anything else but calm in this place!

Berlin, Germany
Berlin is endless in its inspirations. My favorite neighborhood is Kreuzberg. It's has many unique local shops and cafes of all artistic persuasions, but still maintains itself as a family neighborhood. Perfect place for strolling.

Karen > Japan & Finland

Moomins Helsinki

Aalto Finlandia

Kyoto

Tokyo trees

WOW, it's difficult to pick a 'favourite place'; spending time at home with my husband, a day trip to Whitstable; Sunday morning at Columbia Road Flower Market; afternoon tea at Shipp's Tea Room at Borough Market; San Francisco; New York; Amsterdam; Barcelona… the list is endless, and all have a very dear place in my heart.

Japan and Helsinki are very special, and probably my very favourite travel destinations. Both were vibrant, creative, exciting, gentle and inspiring. I am visiting Japan later this year for a second time, and hope it isn't too long before I am lucky enough to go back to Finland.

Ally > big sur, ca.

big sur, ca. camping on the beach is the most wonderful experience. at the risk of sounding cheesy, i'd say that all the elements of big sur [the ocean, the air, the trees] actually move me.

Leah > The Parkway Speakeasy Theater

Aside from my own bed and London's bustling Portobello Road Market early on a Saturday morning, this second-run theater-cum-art-movie house near Oakland's Lake Merritt is pretty much my favorite spot on the planet. Lots of hip, young, cash-strapped creative types frequent the place, and because of the couch setup and cheap eats, groups of friends tend to meet up there, which gives the Parkway a convivial, neighborhood-hangout vibe.

Krauser Family > London & Kauai

I have two favorite spots on earth. One of them is London, the other is Kauai. Both are wet and green, an antidote to arid New Mexico where I spend most of my time with my husband, daughter, lab, and loom. Both locales are exotic, although in completely different ways: one stimulating, the other incredibly relaxing. We try to visit each one on alternate years.
Lucky us!
