Ceci est une partie des tonnelles du château de Compiègne. Toujours entre ombre et lumière, je ne m'en lasse pas et c'est l'endroit où mes pieds me mènent quand il fait beau ou que l'automne pose sa touche orangée. Qu'importe la saison, le lieu est sans cesse renouvelé et chargé d'histoire. Les statues surveillent, elles savent.

I have two favourite places on earth:

(1) The Burren, Co. Clare
I visited the Burren in Co. Clare as a child and always return there when I'm at home in Ireland. The famous Cliffs of Moher are near this spot, but it's the Poulnabrone Dolmen that I love to visit the most. It's an ancient portal tomb, dating back to the Neolithic period, probably between 4200 BC to 2900 BC. At either sunrise or sunset it's a magical place, especially when shrouded in mist.

(2) Castle Mountain, Banff National Park, Alberta
I studied in Alberta for 2 years and fell madly in love with this mountain. As its name suggests it is very "castle-like" but it's also a very atmospheric place. I had never lived close to a mountain range as epic as the Rockies and was overwhelmed by their vast grandeur.

One of my favorite places on earth is Aruba, which is where I have grown up. The sun is usually always shining and the beaches are to die for.

These pictures where taken just before I left for vacation last month, when I went sight seeing with Marlon. We went cruising around the whole island and even though it's pretty small, had a blast and managed to discover a few new places. Good food, drinks, beaches, and getting a tan: what more can you ask for.
I love going to the parts of the island where the sea is rough. You can smell the ocean and see waves crashing.

The last picture, which looks like a bunch of rubble, is actually what's left of the "Natural Bridge". A few years back it finally collapsed.
And I added another picture of when we went into the Indian caves. My first time seeing them actually...

The first three were taken in Destin, FL where I spent my most memorable spring break with my best friends.
It's true, Destin truly has the most beautiful beaches in all of Florida!

The fourth was taken in Buchanan, MI where I grew up. I have a strange connection with this field. It is infinitely more beautiful than this picture shows, but I'm afraid my poor photagraphy skills are showing...

And finally.... the fifth was taken in Pemaquid Point, ME. I've only visited once, but I hope to go back someday; it was insanely beautiful. This was my first trip to Maine, and the beaches were unlike anything I'd ever seen before.

I visited the Møn cliffs on a perfect autumn day in 2005, and they remain among the most beautiful sights I'd experienced to date. At the bottom of the cliffs, one feels tiny and in awe. I sent two of the first images that came to mind when I received notice of this blog. The first is one of my favorite pictures (ever), I snapped it on a military base in Hawaii (in fact several scenes from Pearl Harbour were filmed on this base). I remember the day vividly; I was there with my mother and we watched my sister and her friend take wind-surfing lessons. The second image is of a sea arch near the lava flow on the Big Island of Hawaii. In the other direction you can see the "plume" (where the hot lava hits the ocean water there is a cloud of steam) and my family hiked there together--another beautiful, wonderful day and memory.

J'ai perdu la majorité de mes images suite à une remise à zéro de mon ordinateur, je vous envoie donc une photo qui était restée dans ma carte mémoire, prise en République Dominicaine sur l'île de Saona. J'ai beaucoup aimé cette plage magnifique avec ses immenses palmiers presque surréalistes, son eau bleu turquoise et ses petites cabanes colorées servant de boutiques de souvenirs pour les locaux, pourtant si proches de la misère des gens, de leurs taudis rabibochés de partout, des enfants en uniforme si attentifs à l'école quelques mètres plus loin et des animaux en liberté, se cachant du soleil sous les quelques arbres qui y ont survécu.

Voici l'un de mes meilleurs souvenirs de Rio. Yamandu Costa est un jeune musicien phare de la nouvelle scène musicale brésilienne.
Virtuose de la guitare à 7 cordes, ses compositions très personnelles sont très ancrées dans la musique brésilienne traditionnelle.

Cette photo a été prise lors d'une randonnée assez connue dans les Pyrénnées Luchonnaises qui part de l'Hospice de France pour traverser la frontière espagnole au Port de Venasque. Il faisait super beau et la vue dégagée... Un souvenir Magnifique!!!
